How to Get/Unlock Premier Mode in CS2

Premier is a competitive mode in CS2 where players compete in 5v5 matches, following a 12-round format — the first team to win 13 rounds wins the match. It’s designed to mimic the professional tournament format. The map veto process works as follows:

• Your team bans 2 maps,
  
• The enemy team bans 3 maps,
  
• You ban 1 more map,
  
• The enemy team chooses to start on either CT or T side.
  

How to Unlock Premier Mode in CS2

1. Download CS2 from Steam — it’s completely free.
   
2. Purchase Prime Status, which costs $14.99.
   
3. Reach Private Rank 10 to unlock Premier Mode.
   

You can level up your private rank by playing various game modes such as Wingman, Competitive, Arms Race, or Deathmatch, but the most effective way is through Competitive matches.

Each Private Rank level requires 5,000 XP. CS2 gives out weekly XP bonuses (Wednesday to Wednesday), so the most efficient way to level up is by earning 12,500 XP per week (about 2.5 ranks). After this, XP gains are reduced, making it slower to rank up.

Once you reach Private Rank 10, Premier Mode will be unlocked and you can start playing ranked matches to earn your Premier Rating.

How to Get Your Premier Rating

After unlocking Premier Mode, you need to play and win 10 matches to receive your initial Premier Rating, which reflects your skill level.

• Your rating will increase or decrease based on your match performance.
  
• Every time you cross a 5,000 rating milestone, you’ll get a promotion match. Winning this match will push you into the next tier.
