CS2 Premier Season 2 officially ended on 14th July 2025, as announced by the developers on X (formerly Twitter). The new beginning — Season 3 — is on its way. As of now, Premier Mode has been temporarily disabled and is expected to return within 48 hours.

What to Expect?

With the launch of Season 3:

  • Ratings will be reset, and players will need to win 10 matches in Premier Mode to unlock their new rating.
  • The leaderboards will be wiped, giving everyone a fresh chance to climb to the top and prove themselves again.
  • Just like in Seasons 1 and 2, winning 25 games in Season 3 will earn you a medal as a token of your achievement.

Additionally, several significant changes are expected in this update:

  • Map pool updates, with the possible return of Cache and Cobblestone in Premier Mode.
  • Rumors suggest an improvement to VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat). Since the release of CS2, many players have criticized VAC for being ineffective — cheaters often only receive temporary cooldowns (48 hours, 7 days, or 1 month), even impacting their party members. There is currently no permanent ban system in place, but that might change.
  • Overwatch might also be returning to CS2. If it does, it could bring major improvements to the way cheating is handled, as community involvement will once again play a key role.
